The 4-Star Industrial Hydraulic Systems and Controls Training Program focuses on the total hydraulic system design and moves beyond common product training. With a combination of laboratory and lecture, you will learn how to proceed from system concept to meet accuracy, speed and force requirements. This program has been specifically organized to serve the needs of the hydraulic systems engineer who must design industrial machinery that operates faster, more smoothly, more reliably, without shocks and vibrations, and must reduce production costs while making products that are better.

The 4-Star Industrial Hydraulic Systems and Controls Training Program courses are currently available only to Parker Team Members and Parker Hydraulic Technology Center Distributor Personnel.  If you are not Parker or HTC Distributor Personnel, you can fill out the "Interested in Future Classes" form at the bottom and we will let you know if we will be opening up the courses to others.

4S Hydraulic Component Sizing (HCS)
Parker Hannifin’s 4S Hydraulic Component Sizing (HCS) course, is an overview of industrial hydraulics calculations to prepare Parker distributor engineers and technical sales for the 4S advanced curriculum. The course is designed for an experienced technician or engineer who want to make sizing, selection, and performance calculations for industrial hydraulic components. The course introduces a structured approach to designing a hydraulic system to meet force and speed requirements. Before the end of the course, participants will design a complete system consisting of electric motor, pump, valves, accumulator, filtration and cylinder to meet specific application requirements.

  • F: 8:30 AM - Noon

4S Open Loop Electrohydraulics (EH1)
Parker Hannifin’s 4S Open Loop Electrohydraulics (EH1) course, is the first course in a series of three electrohydraulic courses for Parker distributor engineers and technical sales in the 4S curriculum. The course is designed for an experienced hydraulic engineer to provide an introduction to electrohydraulic valves, terms, calculations, and analysis. About ¼ of course time is spent hands-on with electrohydraulic systems and digital data acquisition.

4S Closed Loop Electrohydraulics (EH2)
Parker Hannifin’s 4S Closed Loop Electrohydraulics course (EH2) is the second course in a series of three electrohydraulic courses for Parker distributor engineers and technical sales in the 4S curriculum. The course is designed for an experienced hydraulic engineer to provide an introduction to quantifying the disturbances to a closed loop system and how they impact the ability to achieve a desired position error window. About 1/4 of course time is spent hands-on with electrohydraulic systems and digital data acquisition.

4S Open Loop Pump & Controls (OLPC)
Parker Hannifin’s 4S Open Loop Pump & Controls Course provides a practical overview of variable and fixed displacement pumps, focusing on proper installation, control configuration, troubleshooting, and efficiency optimization. Participants will gain hands-on experience with several labs introduced to cover various control options and reinforce topics covered in the lectures. The course emphasizes real-world application of Parker products and system design.
