High-performance pumps boost production quality
By replacing outdated equipment with Parker’s high-performance pumps and valves, JG Hydraulic has managed to facilitate significant improvements in production quality at a large paper mill in Sweden.
The pumps, which power four large feeder screws that transport chippings to a large pulp boiler, required ever-more frequent manual adjustments - a result of old technology and increasing wear. Unfortunately, compensating for lagging speed would usually lead to overshoot. Service requirements were also on the rise, while spare parts were becoming obsolete and stock levels were dwindling. The factory needs to be running 24/7 and, with the number of problems increasing, the plant had to take action.
Switching to Parker’s heavy-duty PV180 axial pumps and matching D91 directional valves produced the desired results. Indeed, when the project reaches its conclusion, JG Hydraulic will have installed eight Parker PVplus pumps and seven D91 valves.
