Introducing
CHO-MUTE 9009
Parker Chomerics CHO-MUTE 9009 is an elastomer-based absorber material designed to offer a user-friendly approach to the reduction of unwanted electromagnetic radiation from electronic equipment as well as minimize cavity-to-cavity cross coupling and microwave cavity resonances.
Enhanced EMI Protection for Higher Frequency Ranges
As high-performing technical applications evolve, it’s crucial that the multitude of components designed for them evolve as well. Take the automotive industry, for example. With the increase in advance driver assistance systems (ADAS) and self-driving cars on the horizon, this segment has migrated from a radar frequency of 24GHz bandwidth to a significantly higher range of 77-81 GHz to improve performance and reliability.

To meet these industry demands, we’re pleased to introduce the newest engineering innovation from the CHO-MUTE™ family of microwave absorber materials, a suite of products that have been intentionally and carefully designed to provide best-in-class electromagnetic shielding and thermal management. Parker Chomerics CHO-MUTE 9009 is an elastomer-based absorber material that offers a user-friendly approach to reducing unwanted electromagnetic radiation from electronic equipment as well as minimizing cavity-to-cavity cross coupling and microwave cavity resonances.

Comprised of a silicone elastomer matrix with carbon filler material, CHO-MUTE 9009 ensures radio frequency (RF) absorption performance at a high frequency range and is capable of providing the 50 dB/cm of absorption at 77 GHz required by the automotive industry. Additionally, CHO-MUTE 9009 may be used in close quarters with electronic circuitry to reduce unwanted electromagnetic radiation by absorbing signals and reducing reflections from metallic surfaces.
Offered as sheet stock of various thicknesses and available with or without pressure sensitive adhesive, this flexible material can easily be cut and converted for use in the empirical testing of absorption solutions. A wide variety of fabricating techniques are available for custom part manufacturing, further enhancing the product’s versatility.

CHO-MUTE 9009 has many potential applications, including:
  • Military and commercial radars
  • Telecommunications equipment
  • Industrial applications
  • RF testing

With this high-performing microwave absorber material in place, equipment manufacturers can rest assured they’re utilizing a component that can keep pace with industry and consumer demands.
