The hollow O-ring is a low closure force, easy to install, sealing solution for many static applications. Hollow O profile seals have a compressive force of a lower durometer material and physical property of a higher durometer material. Therefore, the seals with hollow O cross sections can reduce bolt loading and the stress exerted on the mating flanges. The compressive force can be easily adjusted by changing the wall thickness of the profile without lowering the material hardness.
