SOLUTION

The recommended solution for this electronics component manufacturer was to use a Parker Chomerics SOFT-SHIELD® 3500 series fabric over foam EMI gasket in a similar profile to the current competitor’s part. SOFT-SHIELD 3500 is flammability rated to UL 94 V-0 and is available with various profile cross sections each engineered to optimize mechanical form, fit and function while also optimizing electrical performance. 

The customer was pleased with the service Parker Chomerics offered and switched their business. Parker Chomerics was also able to come up with different solutions for future business, including an extruded conductive elastomer solution as a backup if operating temperature requirements are increased by the customer.
